Top Tips

Eat Seasonably has been created to make it easier for everybody to enjoy the benefits of eating fruit and veg at its seasonal best. It might seem like eating with the seasons limits your options, or is fraught with complicated calendars. But we think it should be simply about celebrating the right things at the right time.

Celebrate the monthly heroes
Eat Seasonably partners focus on promoting two or three different fruit and veg each month. Support the campaign by simply building these ‘heroes’ into your menus and promotions, and communicating your participation to your customers.

Get involved

  • Consider offering weekly or monthly specials based around what’s in season.
  • Talk to your supplier and look out for gluts – buying in season is often cheaper.
  • Display the ‘Eat Seasonably here’ logo to show your participation in the campaign.
  • Use the seasonal logo on menus to highlight seasonal choices
  • Get your staff involved in talking about the benefits of eating seasonably.
  • Check out the local suppliers that other partners use on the Eat Seasonably Map.
  • Use the changing calendar and notable dates to create events that get your customers excited.
